Express Delivery, Scheduled Delivery or Store Pickup?

Vhandar gives you three ways to get your order: express delivery in about 45 minutes, scheduled delivery in a window you choose, or free store pickup. Here is which one to pick.
We often get asked which delivery option is "best". The honest answer is that it depends on what you are ordering and how soon you need it. Each option exists because customers asked for it, and each one is good at something different.
Express delivery: when you need it now
How long: about 45 minutes.
Where: addresses within roughly 3 km of our store.
When: while the store is open.
Cost: from Rs. 150, shown at checkout.
Express is for the moments when waiting isn't an option: guests are arriving, the baby is out of wipes, you forgot the cooking oil mid-recipe. A rider picks up your order as soon as it is packed and comes straight to you.
Times can run longer at very busy hours, in heavy rain or around festivals. Express is not available for business accounts, which use their own scheduled business windows.
Standard (scheduled) delivery: for planned shopping
How long: you choose a time window, today or up to 4 days ahead. The window has to start at least 45 minutes after you order.
Where: everywhere inside the Ring Road in Kathmandu and Lalitpur, and farther in the valley for larger orders.
Cost: from Rs. 50 depending on area, distance and weight, and free on larger orders. The exact amount is shown at checkout.
This is what most of our customers use for the weekly or monthly shop. The big advantage is control: you pick a window when you are actually home, so there are no missed deliveries. Check the delivery areas page to see what applies to your neighbourhood.
Store pickup: free and quick
How long: ready in about 20 minutes while the store is open, or schedule a pickup time.
Where: our Koteshwor store, near Tinkune.
Cost: free.
Pickup works from anywhere, with no address needed. It is a good choice if you pass Koteshwor on your way home, if you are outside our delivery area, or if you would simply rather save the delivery charge.

Things that apply to every option
- The minimum order is Rs. 500
- You pay cash on delivery or at pickup
- You can follow every order in My Orders, from Pending to Delivered
- You can cancel an order yourself while it is still Pending
- Liquor and tobacco are only for customers aged 18 and over, and we may check ID
